Jacques Lizène et Pol Pierart participent au « World Academy Project for Expo 2015 » qui se tient à Milan. Initié par la célèbre Accademia di Bella Arte di Brera (où étudièrent, entre autres, Dario Fo, Lucio Fontana ou Piero Manzoni), ce projet rassemble une centaine d’artistes des quatre coins du monde à qui il fut proposé de produire de monumentaux calicots relatifs au thème même de l’Exposition Universelle : « Feeding the planet, Energy for Life ». Tous évoquent donc, de près ou de loin, les problématique globales de la nutrition.
Ces bâches, au rythme d’un work in progress, sont installées au cœur de la Piazza Citta di Lombardia, érigée par l’architecte sino-américain Ieoh Ming Pei.
Pol Pierart, pince sans rire, y envoie un « pain sans rire » mondialisé. Jacques Lizène a conçu quant à lui une « pittura nulla » (1966), « pitture con materie fécali » (1977), croisant son propre visage avec celui de Piero Manzoni. Circuit fermé, mal bouffe, autarcie, voilà de la merde d’artiste. Se souvenant que Piero Manzoni est mort prématurément par un froid et neigeux matin d’hiver, Lizène introduit dans sa bâche, en guise d’achrome, un fragment de Neige du Capitaine Lonchamps. Un « Semiffredo », en quelque sorte.

L’Expo 2015, officially Esposizione Universale 2015, will take place in Milan between 1 May and 31 October 2015.
The proposed theme is “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” and it intends to include everything related to food, from the problem of the lack of food in some areas of the world to nutrition education, to issues related to GMOs.
The focus will be on technology, innovation, culture, traditions and creativity as related to the field of nutrition and food. In this context, the WORLD ACADEMY project aims to present “visual evidence” by some of the most representative internationally recognized contemporary artists, who will produce a visual message for the show.
All the reproductions of the artists’ “messages” will be affixed in the Piazza Città di Lombardia, in the new skyscraper, he- adquarters of the Lombardy Region, which is a sponsor of the event.
The bases on which the artistic images will be displayed (henceforth called sails) will be placed on suspended steel cables, which are an integral part of the building, and arranged at various heights to make it possible for them to be seen from every angle, like a cloud of messages arriving from around the world.
The event will be organized as a work in progress which will progressively be enriched by new images as they arrive at the Brera School of Painting.
