DEPOT DE MOTS

The "dépôt des mots" is an archive or storage of quotations, stage directions (to be played in one breath), thoughts and other text fragments in different languages. In the curtain of PU foam, Kinoshita incorporated fragments of a text by Gertrude Stein (Pennsylvania 1874 - Paris 1946) "What Happened. A Five Act Play (1913)" In this text, Stein constantly balances between the gesture of cut and the resulting slice , both of which also constantly change meaning. Stein's way of writing, full of repetition, changes in repetition and autonomous language that takes on meaning in sound, echoes Kinoshita's method of expression.
